Chapter Philanthropy

Phi Mu's national philanthropy is Children's Miracle Network. Since 1983 Phi Mu has raised over $8 million and has supported over 170 hospitals nationwide. This has greatly improved the lives of thousands of children and their families.

This year Phi Mu at Florida State University raised money for Children's Miracle Network through our annual philanthropy, Bonnamu. Bonnamu, is a spinoff of the popular music festival, Bonnaroo. Bonnamu is a battle of the bands competition, where different fraternities and sororities create bands and perform live at The Moon. All the proceeds from the event, t-shirts, and merchandise go to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

When we started Bonnamu 4 years ago, we had a goal of $30,000 in 3 years. In 2015, our 3rd year, we accomplished that goal by raising $31,000! In 2016 alone, together we raised over $20,000 total For The Kids!  The event takes place during the Spring semester and is a great, successful, and fun-filled event that we cannot wait to make a lasting tradition at Florida State!

To continue raising money for Children's Miracle Network, this past fall we started a new philanthropy called "Phright Night." We orchestrated a haunted house, in which all of the actors were actually Phi Mu sisters! We had a great turn out, and in our first year we raised $8,232. This past year we raised $15,022 and are looking forward to raising even more next year!
